Blush Crush

I’m thinking that by this point I likely have more of a deep relationship with blush than a mere crush. Not only is my closet full of the soft, beautiful hue, but my home is full of many blush accents as well. If decking out head to toe in it isn’t your thing you can always tone it down by pairing it with grey or army green. It’s also stunning with navy and obviously makes a statement with white.

There are so many pieces that have caught my eye lately. This trench is classy and stunning, as are these petal earrings that I’m slightly obsessed with! And when it comes to shoes, I’ve found them it in the most darling heels, the cutest espadrilles and the prettiest sneakers I’ve seen. And if you’re considering bringing some blush into your home, a throw pillow or a pretty vase would be a great place to start.

Everyday Chic

I don’t know about you, but we’ve had some gloomy weather this past week. Some of you know how fun it is getting kids in and out of the car multiple times in the pouring rain, right?! The worst. I spent most of my time in my raincoat and rain boots, but by Sunday I had had enough, lol! I was ready to break out some peplum and throw on a little color. I’m curious what your take on peplum is. It’s been around for some time now and (thankfully) seems to be taking a permanent seat. Is it something you’re drawn to or run away from? The great part is that you can find a piece that will fit just about any style and lifestyle. It may be most popular on a blouse such as the one I’m wearing here, but you can find peplum on everything from sweatshirts, jackets, t-shirts and even swimsuits! Scroll down to find more of my favorite peplum pieces. If you don’t yet own any, maybe now’s your time to give it a try :)

Easy Basics

Basics really are the best, aren’t they? As much as I love embellishment and fun, frilly details, I also love easy, basic pieces. It’s outfits like these that don’t require much thought at all. With the tiny glimpse of spring that we had this week (which then quickly fleeted), I was all too excited to break out some things I hadn’t yet had a chance to wear.

These jeans for one, are fantastic. They have a great stretch to them in addition to the button fly and cropped hem. I can’t wait to wear them more! Then there’s these slides that blew up on my Instagram feed a few weeks ago. I don’t always like to jump on the bandwagon with those items that everyone seems to be wearing, but I couldn’t pass these up, especially for the price. And finally, I was dying to break out my denim jacket, if only for a day! I have tried my fair share of denim jackets, and this one wins by far. I actually have it in a darker wash as well because it’s that good. It’s cut slightly higher in the back which gives it the most flattering fit as opposed to being boxy. It also has some stretch to it which makes it all the more comfortable and not stiff like many other denim jackets I’ve tried. That being said, if you’re on the hunt for a jean jacket this year, this one is worth the investment and will become a go-to for years to come!

Spring Tops

Well ladies, this unseasonably warm weather we’ve had the past few days has me yearning for Spring. There have been a handful of pretty tops that I’ve had my eye on, so I dug a little deeper to uncover more of my favorites currently available. Not surprisingly they are all soft pastels and whites.

This button-up seems like it would make a great layering piece now and pair with white denim later. A perfect closet staple. The stripes + ruffles on this one make it hard to pass up. I can see it with white, blue and black denim alike! This sweet top is one of my favorites. So sweet and feminine and also comes in a pretty striped mauve. And I have this top from last year that I wore on repeat. I’m so glad to see it back again!

Check out the rest of of what I found and hopefully you can get your spring wardrobe started off on the right foot!

Everyday Casual

I hope you guys had a great weekend! Despite the wintery weather we had, we made our way to DC and VA on Saturday to visit with some friends and take the older two around the city a bit. They loved the Air & Space Museum and it’s funny how familiar it was to me from the times my dad took us there as kids. Next time we want to visit the new one by the airport that’s to be just as good if not better. We then attended the best Ninja Warrior birthday party where little Jack got to show off some crazy skills that some of you saw on my Insta-stories. I’m just thankful I had the wrong footwear so I didn’t have to show him up ;)

The kids have off school today for Presidents Day, so I should probably come up with a few plans of action, but all I have on my mind is laundry. Where does it all come from??

I’ve worn this sweater countless times over the past month or so and I’ll be wearing it well into Spring. Check out the other colors as well, they’d all look beautiful with your white denim whenever you break it out. It’s also so cozy that you can just as easily throw it on with some cute joggers and sneaks, which I just may do later this week!

Stripes + Ruffles + Overalls

Happy Friday, guys! Did this week fly by for anyone else? Valentine’s Day has past, the Lenten season has begun and we had a 60 degree day in PA yesterday! Yet I still had a difficult time finding a snow/ice free area to shoot this look, ha!

I didn’t wear my overalls much through winter, I guess because it’s harder to make sweaters work under them? But as soon as I saw the warmer weather creep in, I was ready to break them out. If you’ve followed fora while, you know these are a couple years old from Madewell, but fortunately they keep them in stock and haven’t changed them all that much. The wash looks slightly lighter and they have a raw hem but the Madwell quality hasn’t changed. I read a lot of reviews and these always receive rave reviews. So, if you are contemplating a pair, this is what I recommend!

Now, as for Lent, I’ve made the decision to do a couple of things, but one that pertains to the blog is that I’m giving up (apparel) shopping (gasp!). I do this every so often, but it’s been a while and it was pretty clear that this was a sacrifice I needed to make. Particularly because it’s probably the hardest! It’s good to keep myself in check, which isn’t to say it’s easy! When it comes to what I’ll be sharing here and on social media, I’ll be creative. I’ll be rotating pieces, styling them new ways, scouring the internet to find similar pieces to some of my older items, sharing inspiration boards and maybe even tackling some dressing room diaries (oh the torture!). If any of you happen to have given up shopping as well, let me know so we can lean on one another ;)

Happy Valentine’s Day!! Jack and I actually have something a little bit different to share with you all today, our first video! I was originally planning to do a little Q&A but then the idea of a video came up and it seemed like the right direction to take. I think you’ll get a better sense of our relationship through this video than I’d be able to express in words. And it’s probably a little more entertaining ;)

We aren’t relationship experts by any means, but we’ve been together for a loooong time and we’ve also learned a few things along the way that we’re hoping may be beneficial to your current or future relationships. I’ll link some sources that we reference during the video below for you and if you have any other questions, feel free to let us know!

Embroidered Top

Happy Monday, guys! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We had one day of busy-ness and another of relaxing and re-cooping for the week. I absolutely love having at least one day with no pressure to be here or there. I love having time to prepare things for the week and get my house feeling in order, as opposed to waking up Monday with piles of laundry and an empty fridge!

I wore this outfit to church yesterday morning and I wasn’t going to let the rain ruin my chance at capturing it for you guys. We went straight to this covered bridge in hopes that we’d be able to get enough light underneath it. There were a few slips and slides getting there, but our mission was accomplished! I realize this likely wouldn’t make it to you in time for Valentine’s Day, but isn’t this top adorable for spring? Check out the tie detail on the back in addition to all the embroidery, peplum hem and gathered sleeve. You won’t believe the price either! And if you want a fun pair of pants to add to your wardrobe this coming season, please do pink! I’ve had this pair for a few years, but these are nearly identical and would work so well with neutral and bright tops alike. And this particular pair has received amazing reviews. I may need to look into them in another color!

Bag Talk

I know it’s February, and there is snow on the ground and likely falling from the sky depending on when you’re reading this. But yesterday I struck up a little conversation on Instagram as I was hoping everyone would help me decide which Spring bag to choose. I was between this straw tote and this woven basket bag and everyone’s opinions were split for the most part (so basically no help at all, haha!). And then guess what happened…this one sold out in the natural color I was considering! Now, I’m not insinuating it was my influence that drove the crowds, lol, although I’m hopeful some of you snagged it! But of course you know which one I want now, right?! The one I can’t have ;)

That’s where this post comes in. Good bags can and do sell out quickly, and I don’t want you guys missing out like I already did. So I went ahead and gathered some favorites that I think will be a hit this year. It seems the round straw tote of all sizes is going to be the ‘it’ bag of the season, so I included a few of them below. I also threw in some canvas bags because you can never go wrong with those. I may not be ready for shorts or swimsuits, but a bag? Bring it on!

Which one is your favorite??

Oh, and PS, I’ll be stalking that bag just a little, and if it pops back in stock I’ll shout it from my rooftop…after I add it to my cart ;)

Insta Lately

Hi friends! I’m wrapping up this post on yet another snow day here in PA…apparently the groundhog was right ;) Now I count down the minutes until I’m asked for hot chocolate with way too many marshmallows!

I wanted share an Instagram roundup up today since it’s been quite a while since I last did. As much fun as it is to really focus on an outfit and pull photo shoots together for them, I also enjoy sharing more of what I’m wearing on a day to day basis. Thankfully, Instagram provides the perfect platform to do that! I know many of you follow along over there as well, but for those that don’t, and in an effort to refresh and provide some everyday inspiration, here’s some of what I’ve been wearing lately. You’ll notice a lot of comfortable atheisure-wear. What can I say, this weather brings it out in me!

This sweater is a must have and the jeans are a new purchase that I cannot wait to wear. Demi boot with a little flare and a raw hem. Oh and button fly!! Super flattering and a great addition for spring!

Sweater / Denim / Shirt (similar) / Earrings / Mules (similar)

Perfectly subtle, I love this sweet heart tee <3

Shirt / Leggings

I received some question on this jacket that’s actually from last year, but the updated version is very similar. It fits true to size (I’m typically an XS or S and went with a S to be able to layer underneath), and is perfect for the gym or running errands. I also ordered the regular Spanx leggings in an effort to give the faux leather pair a break and I’m so glad I did!

Jacket (similar) / Leggings / Sneakers / Gloves (similar)

I used to feel that more than a pair or two of sneakers was unnecessary, but as I look at my array of booties, I figured it was time to diversify my sneak collection too. Since I’m wearing them more and more, I know I’ll be getting my wear out of them!

Sneakers / Denim / Hoodie (similar) / Necklace

This sweater is a new favorite of mine. It also comes in a beautiful purple that’s perfect for spring!

Sweater / Coat (similar) / Necklace / Denim / Uggs / Gloves (similar)

Another example of athleisure at it’s finest ;)

Sweatshirt / Leggings / Sneakers

I found this adorable tee recently at Target. According to a recent quote I saw “no one goes to Target because they need something, you go to Target and let Target tell you what you need”. How true those words are ;)

Sweater / T-shirt / Denim / Necklace

Puffy coats are what the weather calls for these days. This one is still available in black and I looove the fit. Perfect length and not overly puffy. I do have another pink one linked below however, because pink is pink <3
