Dressing Room Diaries: H&M

Hi guys! Sorry I’ve been slacking on blog posts this week. These last few weeks of summer are proving to be quite busy so I’m trying to give myself a bit of grace when it comes to keeping up with all the things. We’ll be on vacation next week (heading to Stone Harbor, NJ, yay!) and then the following week the kids will be starting school. At some point shortly after that I’m hoping to feel a bit of normalcy once again.

I stopped by H&M this week and I wanted to share a bunch of great things that I found. I know you all love versatile pieces that can transition easily from weekday to weekend. Whether you’re a teacher heading back to school or not, we could all benefit from a little closet revamp for the new school year, couldn’t we?!

top / pants

This top comes in a bunch of pretty prints. Perfect for any professional setting and great for layering under blazers or cardigans. I was not on the hunt for black denim, but this pair fit like a glove and I couldn’t pass up the price!

top / blazer / pants

I love this sleek blazer. It’s great for adding a sophisticated touch to an outfit. I’d size up on on this one.

top (similar) / skirt

This skirt is perfect for a semi-professional work environment. The length is modest but the hight-waist with the attached belt gives it a fun, updated look. Although I do love this top, I’d likely go for a more fitted/structured top to pair with this skirt.

denim

And as soon as I’d get home form work, I’d switch into something like this. Ok, that’s a lie, I’d be in sweatpants, but this sure is cute, isn’t it?! This top is part of a collaboration with H&M and I can’t track down the exact top online. You can however see the whole collaboration here, or the same print in a dress here, another really cute dress here, and a similar top here. Or be sure to check your local store if you have one!

top / blazer / denim

Here’s a great casual work look. The top is adorable and could be worn with trousers to dress it up or even a cute pencil skirt. If you can get away with jeans however, these girlfriend jeans are worth looking into! Super flattering and comfortable with just the right amount of stretch.

dress

Chances are you may have a simple swing dress like this one in your closet, but if not, you can find it in a few colors here.

dress / blazer

It’s as simple as adding a blazer to make it work appropriate or a denim jacket for the weekend.

dress

Taking things a bit more casual for the rest of the looks today….

I love the fit and wash of this denim shirt-dress. My normal size here was on the verge of being too short for me. Although if I were to throw on some knee-high boots and a sweater jacket I could totally get away with it. But if you’d be more comfortable, I’d grab one size up.

shirt / pants

Slub-jersey tee’s fill a lot of my drawers lately. I have this one in the floral print and I ended up bringing this one home as well.

top / shorts

It may seem late in the season to be grabbing shorts, but I couldn’t pass these up and I know they’ll be put to even more use next year. This top however could get wear for a few more months. The eyelet sleeves are adorable and it comes in a few color options.

sweatshirt / shorts

A great lived-in sweatshirt and a comfy pair of shorts…now we’re talking! I sized up to a Medium for an over-sized fit here.

shirt / pants

Anyone have Disney plans in their future? This tee is so cute it may be worth picking up regardless!

jacket

Super cute fall jacket with an attached hood. The color is much prettier in person than it shows online and the fit is true to size.

Insta-Style

Happy Friday, guys! We are packed up and heading to NJ to visit family for the weekend. The kids have been so eager to take a trip in the new van because we’ve told them that the DVD player is for long trips only ;) I think that thing is going to be our saving grace, lol! Honestly, the only thing missing from the van seems to be a toilet. And maybe a water fountain. Or a soft serve ice cream machine, mmm!!

I’ve pulled together some of my latest outfits that have only made it to Instagram, some of which will hopefully send a little inspiration your way! Have a fantastic weekend soaking up every last bit of summer!

Loving Lately

Happy Wednesday, all! We are halfway through the week and I hope it’s a great one for you.

I wanted to share some of my favorites, or what I’ve been loving lately with you. A little home and a little fashion, but all pertaining to style. Just as I love mixing and matching my wardrobe, I also love arranging and rearranging my home. This past weekend while my husband and I were doing some deep cleaning around our home, I persuaded him to help me shift a few things. We swapped rugs in a couple of rooms and changed up some wall art and mirrors. What resulted was an entirely new look without spending any money. It will require a few tweaks and filling in a few missing gaps, but it’s amazing how refreshing it feels just to change things up a bit. I had ordered this light last week to try in our home (I’m not positive if I’m going to use it in our kitchen or dining room yet) and I’m anxious to see how it looks now that we’ve made these changes.

What makes swapping decor and sometimes furniture rather easy is that most of my pieces relate to one another in some way. I try to be picky when shopping for decor (which is why it takes me forever to decorate my own spaces) so I end up with things I truly love, or at least really, really like! It’s also helpful to have some pretty, neutral things on hand that could work in a variety of spaces. A boxwood wreath is one example. I’ve used mine everywhere from my living room window, the mantle, my mudroom and it’s currently in our powder room. Sometimes all a space is missing is a little greenery. I also recently purchased this lamp at Target. I love the overall look and the style is one that could fit any number of home decor styles.

And now to change gears over to the fashion side of things. I’ve shared over on Instagram that I picked up a couple of these tanks from Urban Outfitters recently and I’ve already worn them a handful of times. They are so comfortable and flattering and will make for a perfect base layer under sweaters come fall. I’ve been using this bag constantly which you’ve likely seen here before. You can’t beat the price for the quality on this one! I’ve wanted a pink pair of sneakers for a while now, and finally settled on these. They are a walking shoe, so not meant for running or cross training, but extremely light and perfect for running about town or chasing your little ones ;) These have been my favorite earrings all summer long. I love the cork which allows them to coordinate with even my most casual summer outfits.

Finally, I’ve been on a jacket kick lately. I’m not ready to loose the summer weather at all, but I think I’m craving more pieces to style as summer doesn’t really allow for much layering. You saw this jacket on Monday, but I’m sharing again because it’s a current favorite for sure. And I’ve also shared this denim jacket on here as well, but it’s worth repeating too. A great, slightly boxy fit, the perfect amount of distressing and an even better price! It’s fully stocked and on sale now, so don’t wait until fall to risk this one being sold out!

Hope that gives you a little inspiration for your home and/or closet! I’d love to know, what are you loving lately??

Butterfly

Our weather has been all sorts of crazy lately. What was endless rain and cooler temps for a few weeks looks to now be taking a turn back to summer weather. I found this cute butterfly tee the other week and couldn’t pass it up. It’s comfortable and will be great for layering under cardigans in a month or two. What I’m more excited about however, is this adorable short-sleeved jacket. I love being able to style an extra layer during the summer but can’t wait to throw it on over sweaters and flannel shirts come fall. Trust me on this one and go scoop one up!

LOFT Sale

Hey guys, happy Friday! Sorry I’ve been a little MIA this week, summer is so much fun and so much work with three little ones to care for 24/7! I’m in no rush for summer to end, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t looking forward to gaining a bit of my time back come fall. And getting to shop for groceries without pushing the larger than life shopping cart that’s shaped like a car and weighs eighty pounds, is sounding pretty dreamy right about now ;) We do still have a few fun trips to tackle this summer which we’re all looking forward to. And we’ll be taking those trips in our, wait for it….mini-van. Oh my goodness guys, Jack and I can’t stop laughing about it because we can’t quite wrap our heads around the fact that we actually came to this conclusion. I don’t think I’ve ever said I would never have one, but I have a fond love for SUV’s and love the way they drive so assumed that’s the path we’d be on. Well, it turns out there’s no denying the functionality and space that a mini-van offers for our family of five. We pick it up next week and I’m honestly just as excited as the kids are. It’s time to embrace the soccer mom in me because I am in fact a soccer mom ;)

I haven’t had much time to shop in person, but LOFT is offering an extra 60% off their sale items right now! I’ve rounded up a whole bunch of favorites including staple tee’s, pretty tops, a few fun pant options and more. You’ve seen me wear this top multiple times (including here and here), these pants seen here, this sleeveless sweater here, and this adorable jacket here. Be sure to browse a bit if you have the time because there are so many great finds at some incredible prices!

Have a fantastic weekend!

Criss Cross

I hope you all had a great weekend! Friday I met up with my college bestie and took our kids to an indoor trampoline park. It was our first time visiting one of those and my kids had a blast! I almost peed my pants watching Audrey jump around dodging everyone like she was in a game of Super Mario, haha! We spent Saturday with my family at our family reunion. The weather was absolutely perfect, we had a great time playing corn-hole, egg toss (yes, I lost!) and taking a hayride around the family farm. My dad is one of fourteen and I’ve been attending our reunions since before I can remember. It was so fun to see my kids having just as much fun as I always did.

This light-weight sweater is from the Nordstrom Sale and these jeans (also here) are still my go-to’s this summer. Wrap tops are so feminine and flattering, two of my favorite elements in any piece! I’ve gathered a bunch of other options for you to check out below. Pair them with a pencil skirt or trousers for work or wear them for weekend as I did here with some distressed denim. Versatile pieces are the best!

Baby Blue

Another week is in the books, friends! For those of you that follow along over on Insta-stories, you saw that I wore this look for my date night with Jack this week. The weather was a touch cooler so I took advantage and wore this cute sweater that I got from the Nordstrom Sale. There are still some colors/sizes available, but I also found this one that’s very similar. I’ve been wearing these denim cut-off’s just about everyday and apparently every night too! They are my summer go-to’s, no doubt. And these pink sandals are majorly marked down. They’re just the pop that pairs perfectly with so many of my outfits this summer.

I hope you all have a lovely Friday and a fantastic weekend!

This is most likely my final post pertaining to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but I didn’t want to overlook some of the great finds in the home section. I’m guessing that many of you are frustrated with the amount of things that have sold out in various colors and sizes in the clothing department ( I had a bunch of items end up cancelling on me even when I ordered on the very first day!). So it’s quite refreshing to see everything still stocked and available for purchase in home decor.

It’s a great time to score pieces not only for your home, but stock up on some great gifts as well. This monogramed cutting board is beautiful, and these candles come in sets of three so you can use some in your own home and add others to gifts as needed. This blanket would also make such a great gift as it’s stylish and functional at the same time!

As for your own home, I’m loving all three of the rugs you see below. This one comes in a bunch of colors and would be beautiful for a living or sitting room. And I love the houndstooth pattern on this one which would work well as a door mat or in your kitchen. When it comes to organization in my home, baskets are a key part of keeping things in order. This set comes as a trio and could be used all throughout ones home. And if you have an empty wall that could use a little something, a few of these mirrors would look great in an entryway, hallway, dining room or even in a powder room. And finally, I’ve been considering adding a diffuser to our kitchen but wanted something super sleek looking and not too busy. I may end up caving and grabbing this one.

There are a ton of other goodies to check out, but these were my ultimate favorites in this category. Let me know if you found anything for your home that you’re loving!

Striped Ruffles

Hey guys! Hope you all had a great weekend! Ours was a bit chilly (which was actually a great excuse to try out some of my Nordstrom Sale goodies) but I kind of enjoyed the break in the heat. I hadn’t worn these linen pants in a few weeks and I had almost forgotten how comfortable they were. They have a bit of stretch to them that makes them almost as comfortable as a pair of sweatpants. Loungy yet structured perfection, and the green paired perfectly with this striped top. The ruffled sleeves are what sold me ;) It was another recent score from our favorite blackhole, I mean bullseye store, lol!

Jack is now 9 years old and it’s not all that often that he cares to take pictures with me. When he asked to be in a few shots you had better believe I wasn’t turning him down! I love that sweet little kiddo <3

Today’s the day that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is finally open to the public! Fall styles at discounted prices, but only for a limited time.

There’s so much to navigate over there, but I’ve narrowed down some of my favorites in various categories to help give you a start. Sizes have been selling out, but I’m crossing my fingers that some things will re-stock. I’ve received a handful of things from my order and I’m loving so many pieces already. I’m not ready to bundle up in scarves and sweaters just yet, but it sure is tempting!
