Insta Lately

Happy Friday! I’m gathering some of my looks that have only made it to Instagram to share with you today. I think I’ll be doing a lot of mix and matching with some of these falls pieces this year. I love keeping a closet full of versatile pieces that are easily interchanged. I can already see a few front runners (aka my wardrobe work horses) taking the lead!

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend full of fall festivities!!

Fall Favorites: Booties

If you’re anything like me, booties are probably a staple in your fall wardrobe. Each year I wear the heck out of at least a pair or two as I wear them nearly everyday. I think retailers have caught on because you’ll now find yourself in an ocean of booties when you go on the hunt for a pair. That may sound like a good thing to have so many options, but for myself, I’d much rather have a curated selection to choose from. I took the time to browse through hundreds upon hundreds of booties and narrowed them down to a little over a dozen in hopes that this may help some of you to make an easier decision.

I incorporated a few that make a little more of a statement, including animal print, ruffles, snakeskin and perforation in addition to the more classic styles. Most of these booties come in multiple colors, so make sure to click through the images below to get all of the details.

At first I was attempting to seek out budget friendly styles, but for me, when it comes to shoes that I’m wearing this frequently, comfort ultimately comes first and I didn’t want to sacrifice that and lead you down a path of blisters…because we all know that’s not worth anything! So I chose to stick to the brands that I know and trust and have had the best luck with in the past. My habit is to track down the pair that I most love, wait for a sale and keep my fingers crossed that my size doesn’t sell out :)

Fall Must-Have: Sweater Jacket

So cliche, I know…but guys, sweater weather is the best isn’t it?? I love the crisp air and I love layering up once it arrives. Graphic tee’s and sweater jackets make for a pretty perfect combo. I wore this outfit to church yesterday and then switched into my Converse to take Jack to his soccer game and grab some groceries.

This sweater came from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, so there’s a chance that some of you may have grabbed it too! If not, I’m sharing a bunch of other options that are currently available and allow you to pull of this similar look below.

We Love Loft Sale

Happy Friday, all! There’s a big sale happening at Loft so I’m taking you into the dressing room with me and sharing some of my favorite fall pieces thus far. There were some really great finds that are likely going to turn into constant repeat items in my closet this season! Use code NEWNOW to receive 40% off your purchase.

Let’s start with this sleeveless sweater because it fell at the top of my list. The colors and stripes are so perfect for fall and I’m very much looking forward to pairing it with denim, black pants and leggings! These tanks are great staples if you’re on the hunt as well.

And speaking of a another good staple, these tee’s are always great to have on hand. I love the green stripes on this one, perfect for fall layering.

This top is by Lou & Grey, so you can imagine how soft it is.

It has a great drapey fit and I adore having the extra length in the back (hellooo leggings).

If you need a dressy top, this top is worth trying! It’s a true wrap top and has a great fit with a hidden button closure at the perfect spot.

I’m all over wrap tops and sweaters this season because I love how flattering the fit can be. The color on this one is so beautiful. The only down side is that it has a bit of ‘itch’ to it. So you may consider sizing up and layering under it.

Yet another adorable sweater. This one has a looser fit and not only could be dressed down…

But I love it paired with this skirt! For those of you that have a dressier work style, you must try out this skirt. They didn’t have my size, so overall it’s falling a bit long on me, but I could tell the fit would have been right on.

The amount of pieces you could pair with the skirt seem endless. How pretty is this color combo though?! You can find the blouse here.

This is such a great fall dress. I can totally see it worn with knee high boots and a scarf for a more dressed down look.

This bright shift skirt is out of the norm for me, but there was something about being able to pair it with all of the fall colors that drew me in.

Some of you have seen me wear this sweater already and I highly recommend it. I don’t love all cardigans but I thought the length (and color) of this one was just perfect.

This blazer caught my eye and as soon as I felt it I knew it wasn’t your typical stiff blazer. It’s soft and has a nice amount of stretch to it, so you could keep this on hand to wear around casually over t-shirts and jeans in addition to wearing it with any career wear outfits.

And last was this loose fitting cardigan that comes in the softest khaki/camel color. This could quickly become an everyday go-to!

Ruffled Sweatshirt

We are halfway through the week guys! And to brighten your day, I just realized that this oh so adorable cropped sweatshirt is marked down to $21! Basically a steal because you’ll want to wear it everyday once you see how comfortable it is. It’s a great way to add a little something to an otherwise casual outfit. And for those of you that would rather something more neutral, it also comes in black.

I’ve also been wearing these jeans on constant repeat which many of you have noticed. This particular pair (in this wash) is now sold out, but the style is the Levi’s Wedgie. I have a similar pair linked for you below (and here) but if you love this style you won’t have a difficult time tracking them down. They are typically priced under $100 too, which is a refreshing price for quality jeans. They don’t have much stretch so I recommend sizing up one, but if you order via Nordstrom it can’t hurt to grab two sizes to test while taking advantage of their free shipping and returns.

Wishing you all a wonderful day!

Fall Favorites: Decor

Hi guys, I hope you all had a great weekend! Fall is now officially less than a week away. Whether or not the temperatures follow suit isn’t up to us, but our decor is something we certainly have control over! I don’t overdo it when it comes to fall decor, but I do love updating my rooms, scattering pumpkins, changing out my wreathes and switching out some of my faux florals around the home. I’ll also be adding some mums around our porch and hopefully snagging some pretty pumpkins from Trader Joes this week or next. I like them to last well into November, so I hold out as long as I can on both of those.

Below are some of my fall decor picks that would beautifully update your home for the season. From a stunning wreath and welcoming doormat to greet your guests to pretty wall art and cotton stems to fill any empty vases you may have lying around. And don’t forget the pumpkins. I’ve lost count of how many I have spread throughout our rooms, but I love their simplicity and the fact that you can find them in just about any color you desire these days!

Date Night

Happy Friday, all! This weekend Jack and I have our 12th wedding anniversary. With a busy weekend ahead, we took time last night to get out to dinner together. He’s been my favorite date for over two decades now! As much as I enjoy his company, there’s something magical about having someone else (we have a sweet neighbor that often sits for our kids) tackle the dinner, bath, bedtime routine once in a while. That is worth every single penny, lol!

This sweater is from last year (you can see another way I styled it here), but I tracked down a bunch of similar options for you below. These joggers however, are still in store and they come in a few colors. You’ll have to try them on for yourself to see how amazing they are, but in the meantime you can take my word for it! Obviously they pair perfectly with sneaks, but I thought it would be fun to dress them up a bit. After indulging at dinner, I was all the more thankful to have had them on! Also, these shoes are down to $36! They are adorable, comfortable and the suede is perfect to dress up some of your fall outfits. Speaking of sales, Nickel & Suede is having a one day, buy one give one sale on some of their items. Such a great time to snag a new fall pair for yourself and be able to gift one to a friend!

Everyday Classics

We may not have had much sun yesterday but at least the sky cleared up for a bit! This trench was one of the jackets that I shared on my last blog post. It’s already a favorite of mine being that’s it’s both versatile and has a flattering shape to it. Jeans and graphic tee’s are easy go-to’s for me, but tossing on a classic trench over top is a fun way to take those outfits up a notch.  And outside of my booties, these Converse get more wear than most of my other shoes. Comfy classics is how I like to roll ;)

PS don’t miss Audrey’s little cameo below…she totally steals the show <3

Fall Favorites: Jackets

Hi guys! The rain didn’t allow for any photo shoots this weekend so instead I’ve decided to round up my favorite jackets for the fall. I’ve been asked about cute rain jackets as well, so they are included here too! I’ll be continuing with more fall favorites down the road; sweaters, boots etc, so if there’s anything you’d like to make sure I cover, let me know!

You’ll find two short sleeved jackets below and absolutely love them both. You may think the short sleeves defeat the purpose, but just think of it as a mix between a vest and a jacket. Layer your sweaters or flannels underneath, or even short sleeves when we inevitably jump back up into the 70’s. I’ve already worn this one a number of times, but I also adore the peplum bottom on this one.

Field jackets are must-haves for the fall. This one is a classic you’ll have for years to come and the camo print on this one makes it just as wearable but with a bit more character.

I may sound like a broken record when it comes to denim jackets, but when you find what works, you stick to it! This one is my all-time favorite. 100% worth the investment for the slim fit and perfect amount of stretch that keep it both comfortable and flattering. Then there’s this one that is basically a steal, but a fantastic fit for a looser, distressed style jacket.

I included two trench coats. Classic olive and khaki. How cute is the belt that comes with this olive jacket? And I ordered this one during the Nordstrom sale and I can’t say enough good things about it. I think it looks even better in person, and the color isn’t quite as saturated. The tie sleeves are playful and the front drapes open ever so perfectly as to not hide your entire outfit.

As for the rain jackets…I love the structure of this one and if your a sucker for bows, this one has a subtle tie on the back. This jacket is perfect paired with your atheleisure looks as you run around town or to and from the gym. And this jacket is what you may picture as your classic rain jacket. Plus, there’s a color for everyone!

And finally, I had to include this little number, because, well, how couldn’t I?! If you’re looking for something a little out of the ordinary, this one’s for you!

Striped Tee

Happy Friday! It’s been a long week, but we’ve just about made it to the weekend! The heat around here has yet to let up, but I’ve been finding ways to break-in some new fall pieces. I still cannot get enough of these shorts and I loved pairing them with this striped-long sleeved tee that you may have seen in Wednesday’s post. The shorts are almost sold out, but you can check out a bunch of similar styles here. And the top is fully stocked in a number of colors for under $20. It’s a fall staple in my book that will be on heavy rotation!
