a lovely living

Life Lately

It’s that crazy time of year where the kids start back to school, I start to get excited for fall and the temperatures decide to hang out in the high 80’s! Oh, and then the pool closes, ha! Oh well, as one who lives in central PA I know for sure I will be sick of the cold in a few short months, so I won’t complain.

So let’s see, life lately…Jack started 1st grade this week and is loving being back with his friends. Madelyn met her preschool teacher and (I think) is ready to start next week. I myself am not sure I’m ready for that, although I am looking forward to a little quiet time two days a week with Audrey. Jack and I continue to tackle projects around the house, albeit at a much slower pace than when we started.  From what I hear from other homeowners, however, is that the projects never end. I guess we’re in for the long haul!

This beauty of a rug arrived recently for our dining room. I found it on Gilt and am so glad I came across it because it certainly makes a statement! It was one of those things that I didn’t know what I wanted or which direction I should take until I saw it!

My doll, growing up and heading to preschool all too quickly!

A little updating to our powder room. Nothing crazy, but a little paint (SW Silver Strand) and a change up with the mirror has it feeling a little more ‘me’.

Hope you all have a fantastic Labor Day weekend!

Love the updated powder room! It’s amazing what difference those things make.

How are things with Jack’s health? I wondered if the move was difficult for him. (You don’t have to reply if you don’t want to – just know I was thinking about you!)

You’re so sweet and considerate Whitney! I wish (and cannot wait) until I have some positive news. He’s been referred to another specialist after attempting a more natural route with no results. He’s back on an antibiotic plan so we’re going to stick with this as long as necessary. One positive is that he feels his tolerance level has risen so although he’s not feeling any better his attitude/mindset is much more uplifted. I know God has big plans for him so we’ll continue to pray in the meantime!

Love the rug! And the kiddos on it. That pic of you and Miss Maddie should be in a frame. Love it!!
