For some reason I have been doing my best to layer my clothes in an attempt to avoid breaking out my winter coats. I suppose I just wasn’t ready to give in to winter weather, but once I got back into this coat I didn’t want to take it off. This JCrew coat is very appropriately called the Cocoon Coat. Mine is from last season but they are available again this year in a variety of gorgeous colors. I’d love to add the midnight green and regal blue to my closet.
I could easily slip into leggings and sweaters all winter long. Since those staples tend to be basic colors in my closet (blues, greys etc.), I like having a variety of colors to turn to when it comes to coats, hats, scarves and gloves. Colorful outerwear keeps my outfits from feeling dull or boring and stands out against any cloudy/gloomy weather. A little bling on your hat can’t hurt either! Love this one that I found in good old Target.

I adore the green colour of this coat. I have a much older Lady Day coat from JCREW in a similar colour and I always bust it out for the holiday season.
