Madewell Sale

Happy Friday, guys! There’s a rare Madewell sale going on and with it being one of my favorite stores to shop, I wanted to share some of my favorite picks with you! Right now you can get 15%-20% off depending on your shopping level, just make sure you’re signed up for their free Insider program. Madewell is a store that I shop knowing that I’ll be purchasing quality items that will last me years (and years). Some things may seem like more of an investment and I promise you, they are worth every penny.

I’ve lost track of how many years I’ve owned their Transport Tote, but I swear it just gets better with age. I’ve also had a pair of their overalls for a few years now and they continue to look brand new. This stands true for their jeans too. Most of their things fall on the more timeless and classy end which is another reason I end up wearing them for years on end. This Courier Shirt is one that I get asked about often. It has a timeless appeal with a playful button detail up the back which makes it all the more appealing.

I often get asked about denim and Madewell makes some of my favorite jeans. Every body is shaped differently and Madewell not only offers petite, regular and tall options, but assuming you’re an ‘Insider’ (which you most definitely should be, because it’s free to sign up), you’ll get free shipping so you can order a few styles and sizes to try and return what doesn’t work.

I always end up with a few new Madewell sweaters each year and they all end up on heavy rotation. I grabbed one of their cardigans (similar to this one) during the Nordstrom sale and am narrowing down the rest as they continue to come out. All I can say is there are more than a few good options!

Dining Room Makeover

Some of my favorite projects over the past few years have been those that my friends hire me for. Of course that’s in part because I love corresponding and meeting up with them, but also because it’s always easier for me to piece things together for those that I know really well. When I have a good read on their style and personality, my brain knows exactly where to go. One of my good friends from our years in Hoboken now resides in a beautiful home just outside of Boston. Although I’ve only been to visit once, we managed to tackle a dining room makeover for her family across the miles. I didn’t have professional photos to share from this project, but I’m hoping that you’ll enjoy these iphone shots just as well!

With a playful and vibrant vibe to their home, I knew without a doubt that we could take their blank slate and turn it into something stunning. She was open to every suggestion I gave, from the board and batten to a bold wallpaper and even a pop of color on the ceiling.

We threw around a handful of wallpapers and she eventually settled on this one by Hyggee & West. We then requested to have the ceiling color matched to the wallpaper and I couldn’t be happier that she took this final step which makes such a huge impact in the room. After all, the ceiling is merely a fifth wall!

This gorgeous mirror was already on hand in their home, so I tied in the gold with this beautiful etagere and a bold, modern chandelier.

I enjoyed seeing this project come together and I love how some color and a few details can really bring a room to life! Thanks to my girlfriend for inviting me onto this project. I was thrilled to be a part of it <3

Wide Leg Crops

Happy Labor Day! I hope many of you are enjoying the day with friends and family or relaxing and taking advantage of the long weekend. If you’re prepping your fall wardrobe, make sure you check out last week’s JCrew and Loft try-on’s before their sales end! And home the home front, Wayfair is having an amazing clearance event. So if there’s something you’re trying to track down, I’d turn there!

I wore this outfit to church yesterday and not only did I love the color combo, but these pants are just awesome! I’ve shared them in a few other try-on’s I’ve done and although this color isn’t online they come in five other options. Check your local store if you love the the olive however! They are comfortable, can be styled casually or for business casual and perfect for teachers too! I love this color paired with the leopard cami (that’s under $20 and a great fall layer to have on hand). I could also see this outfit being dressed up with these pants in black, a black blazer (how cute is this one?!) and some heels <3
