Playing Dress-Up

Although it’s true that I enjoy styling the ‘everyday’ outfit, I’ll jump at the chance to get dressed up for an event. We attended a friend’s wedding this past weekend and although I had initially planned on renting a dress, well, plans changed. But I do trust your opinions, believe me ;) I found this Juicy dress that hadn’t been worn in a few years and when this bib necklace caught my eye on BaubleBar, I knew it was the perfect excuse to buy it.

dressup4It also felt like the right choice because my Blair Ritchey clutch paired with it perfectly.

I first attempted to do a half french twist, as demonstrated by my favorite hair girl at The Small Things Blog, but I didn’t have quite enough length. That, or I just stink at conquering any type of up-do. Most likely the latter. So I twisted and pulled back one side of my hair. That, I can handle.

The mint, chain link bracelet was a purchase from Jane.com. It’s a daily deal site which was formerly called Very Jane, in case that sounds familiar to you. It’s worth checking out.

Thanks to the help of various family members who graciously watched our children, Jack and I had a wonderful night away and didn’t wake up until 9am on Saturday…that’s a big deal!
