Culottes

Happy Friday guys! And a summer Friday nonetheless, even better! With swim team every morning for my two eldest and our church’s Sports Camp every evening this week, it’s been a busy few days. I think we’re all looking forward to a relaxing weekend where not much more than friends and pools are involved :)

We took Audrey on a ‘date’ with Jack and I one evening while the older two were at camp. It may have been a little untypical for date-night but we had such a great time with her. She made friends with everyone around us as she typically does and I enjoyed a night off cooking duty. I picked up these culottes at H&M and I’m in love. My mom must have owned a dozen pairs in the 80’s and I can understand why. They easily go from casual to dressy, even a little bit of both as I did here. I was in a t-shirt mood but these cute heels finished off that date-night look. It ended up being just the combo I was looking for.

Enjoy your weekend, all!

Can anyone else believe July 4th is only a week away?! When we watched the fireworks last year, Audrey was terrified and snuggled into my chest the entire time while we huddled in the back of our car. Obviously I hope she’ll be more excited this year, but there’s a small part of me that would jump at the chance to snuggle like that again for a solid 30 minutes!

As for your outfit, I’ve gathered a number of pieces to provide a little bit of inspiration. I like to mix and match my red, white and blue just enough without going too far overboard. Gingham or stripes, a sundress or cut-offs and a graphic tee, whatever your plans may be, there’s an ensemble for you!

Striped Maxi

It’s been a little while since I’ve come across a good maxi dress. The scoop neck and capped sleeves make for a flattering fit but the stripes are what really won me over. I wore these pretty pink flats so that I was able to chase my littles in and out of church yesterday, but wedges would be equally as cute.

Speaking of cute shoes, we went to Cracker Barrel with my family for dinner on my sisters birthday over the weekend. Audrey made it there, but her shoes did not. This wouldn’t be the first time we had to purchase new shoes for the girl because we loaded her into her carseat shoe-less. And of all the places we could have been, Cracker Barrel had the cutest pair of pink jellies that Madelyn picked out for her in their gift shop. She now refers to them as her ‘tap shoes’ and those $12 jellies bring the biggest smile to her face. She made sure to tell everyone she saw today all about them ;)

Pretty Pink Top

We’ve made it to Friday once again! Yesterday was a jam packed day which included the first swim meet of the season for Jack and Madelyn. Jack has a pretty good handle on the whole thing this time around, but it was Madelyn’s first time taking part and as a brand new 6 year old it was pretty darn cute! I didn’t catch her time yet but it sure felt as though it took five minutes to get her across the pool, haha! Regardless, it’s a pretty cool parenting moment to see your ‘baby’ swim a lap in its entirety.

I think I shared these pants in my last LOFT round-up, they are all sorts of amazing. I dressed them up a bit here, but they work just as well with a cute tee and flat slides. The top is also adorable. Great for work, church or even a shower. I went with oversized earrings, but a statement necklace would also pair really well. You’ll be shocked at the price! Check it out here.

I haven’t had much free time this week, but I do have a round-up of some summer shoes I’ve been eyeing up! I’m giving these heels a shot because they’re way too cute and perfect for date nights or weddings alike. On the more casual side, aren’t these slides adorable? I think they’d be perfect to/from the pool. And then there’s these slides, oh my, they’d go with just about anything. As would these espadrilles that I’m going to try out. And how about these cute little booties? The cut would be so flattering on and they’d not only be great with denim shorts, but would carry well into the fall as well (shhh, pretend I didn’t mention fall, okay?).

Datenight Look

Hey guys! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. The heat has set in around here so my plan is to spend as much time with my kids at the pool as possible this week. Jack and Madelyn are on swim team this year, so we are there just about every morning for practice. Audrey is a trooper as she learns which times she allowed in the pool or not, practice verses open swim time….it’s hard for a three year old ;) This is Madelyn’s first year on team as a newly 6 year old and just Friday she made it the entire length of the pool! I could care less about her form at this point, I’m just thrilled to have another swimmer!

Having full days with the kids this summer, date nights feel even more crucial for Jack and I to connect. And honestly, having a night here and there that I can skip out on the dinner/bath/bed routine is wonderfully refreshing. Casual but pretty outfits are my main go-to’s for date night. This top is so fun and romantic and it paired perfectly with my distressed denim. I have a girlfriend that has been telling me for months that I needed to try some Levi’s. She was right. They are awesome. Jack calls them my mom jeans and I take absolutely no offense to it ;)

LOFT Sale

Hey guys! It’s Friday and LOFT is having a 40% off sale, so all signs are pointing towards a great weekend!! I ventured in to do a little try-on session earlier this week with my two oldest, thinking maybe they could contain their boundless energy for a half hour, but it turns out that locking them up with me in a dressing room doesn’t exactly calm them down, lol! Fortunately I made it through enough to share with you all and you get to enjoy some cute little photo-bombers ;)

I love this shade of pink in addition to the eyelet details of this top. It would look so pretty paired with crisp white denim. The jeans are my own, you can find them here (just size up one, they are awesome!).

Adorable dress. I need a tan or at least a touch of color, but regardless, adorable dress. Apparently Madelyn thought otherwise, lol!

We’ll talk about this cute top first because the sleeves are so pretty and the pink is so soft and beautiful. It could easily be dressed up or down depending on what you paired it with.

This skirt is another winner! The fit is right on and the length on me (I’m 5’7″) falls just above the knee. I couldn’t capture just how cute it is in person, but you can trust me, it is!

The eyelet details on the sleeves of this dress make it anything but a boring t-shirt dress. It’s another versatile piece that could pair with flat sandals for a weekend picnic or wedge heels for church or a shower.

You know causal, comfortable clothes are my go-to’s everyday and that’s exactly why I fell for yet another pair of Lou & Grey lounge pants (and short sleeved hoodie!). I actually think they make it impossible for you to try on and then walk away from!

I own a few sleeveless sweaters (this one is a favorite) and they get much more wear than I ever expected they would! They make it easy to toss on a denim jacket over without the bulk of sleeves to worry about. And these shorts are a great alternative to denim if you wanted to switch it up a bit.

There are many times throughout the summer months that I reach for light sweaters, especially when we are hanging outdoors once the sun goes down. This is one worth grabbing!

I don’t know which I love better, this top or these pants. They both came home with me a few days prior and both are already broken in :) The top is so sweet and loose and comfortable at the same time. And I’m willing to say, if you were to only buy one item, these pants should probably be it! My goodness are they fantastic. I wanted both colors, but decided to start with one and go from there ;)

Another pair of adorable shorts. If the embroidery doesn’t win you over, the elastic waist will ;)

Madelyn clearly approves of this one! Adorable right? The girl and the top ;)

I meannnn, it has pom-poms! Cute, cute, cute!

One final pair of must-have shorts. I love the frayed hem as well as the tassle-tie.

If you need a good summer maxi, here it is! Great fit, cute stripes and a perfect length.

Although this last one was in our LOFT store, it’s actually from the Lou & Grey site, which means it’s not a part of the 40% off sale. It is however, a great summer sweatshirt to have on hand, so I wanted to share!

Target Treasures

I know I’m not the only one that has a deep love for Target. Being able to track down just about anything for any area of your life in one spot is such a wonderful thing. Of course they also have everything you didn’t know you needed until you passed by the wrong end-cap, but that’s the love/hate relationship, right? Don’t get me started on the online returns area and all the treasures that can be uncovered there (at even better prices!). Even if they do take all of my money, Target is one store I’d hate to be without.

I wanted to share some of the Target goodies that have recently caught my eye. We know their fashion is adorable, and isn’t this dress super fun?! It would pair perfectly with these adorable slides. And when it comes to lounging, I’m all over this Mickey ensemble. There are also a number of home goods worth sharing. I don’t know how I’ve gone this long without a plastic pitcher, but we’ve been using this one a few times a week already to take to the back deck with dinner or for gatherings. I wouldn’t mind adding some of these cute trays or this berry basket to my kitchen for summer entertaining either. And if you have a space for it, this three piece set could complete an outdoor area. The chairs are so comfortable I had to hold myself from wrapping it up and bringing it all home myself!

If you have any good Target finds, do share! I’d love to know!

Flared Sleeves

I hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend! Ours seemed to fly by, but it was a good one around here! I actually wore this outfit to Madelyn’s dance recital last weekend but haven’t gotten it up on the blog until now. I’ve been turning to these sleek trousers every time I’m not in the mood for jeans. They are extremely comfortable and I saw that they now come in a coral! And this top is a summer staple for sure. I love anything that’s versatile enough to be dressed up or down and this will just as easily pair with my denim cut-offs and sneakers. The stripes and flared sleeves give it the perfect amount of interest without going overboard.

Print Blouse

Happy Friday and happy first day of summer break for me and my kids! Last year at this time I remember feeing slightly overwhelmed at the thought of keeping three kids entertained all day everyday for an entire summer. But once we got into our groove and had swim team to keep us on just enough of a schedule, we had a really great summer. Following a full year with two of my kids in school full-day, I’m more than ready for a break from the early mornings, packed lunches, afternoon homework and overly booked schedules. We are all very much looking forward to the next few months ahead of us!

If you want to grab a cute top or two, this one is now on sale for $15 and comes in a few other colors/prints. Cute, light and airy. Pair it with cut-offs for a casual look or trousers for the office. You can put this one to work for sure!
