Sale Alert

Well, my son took off for third grade and my middle daughter jumped right in to Kindergarten this morning! It’s a strange feeling for sure. As overwhelming as three children can be at one time, it’s so hard to see them go! Poor little Audrey (my two year old) is not going to know what to do with herself! I have a feeling we’ll be making more than a few lunch visits to see the rest of our clan this year ;)

In an effort to distract myself, I put together a little Back to School sale for you and I. These are items that I already have (and love) or items I’m considering, especially at some of these sale prices. I’ve worn this thermal peplum on here before, but since it’s now nearly half off I figured I’d share it again. The same goes for this OTS sweater that so many of you have loved! I do not yet have a bodysuit but I’m very tempted to get one to layer with this fall, and at this price I just may cave. I also love this basic muscle tee and these suede mules, how great are they?? And who can pass up a new plaid scarf when fall rolls around? Tell me I’m not alone!

How about you? Any good sale finds on your end lately?

sweater / watch / sweater

mules / tank / bodysuit

peplum / scarf / sweater

Talk about a great transition piece…this off the shoulder sweater is beautiful, comfortable and lays so well. You could also pull it up over your shoulders to fit more as a cowl neck for more a professional look or simply your own taste! For those that may not love the dusty pink vibe, it also comes in classic black. And by the way, at this moment it’s on sale for $16!! Pretty much a steal!

School starts for my older two on Wednesday so I have two more days to tackle doctor’s appointments, dentist appointments and back to school meet & greets. How’s everything going for those of you that have already sent kids back? Missing them like crazy or thankful for a little breather? A mix of both I’m sure ;)

Basics for Date Night

I kept things pretty casual for date night with my husband last night. Basic pieces that I’m guessing most of you could pull out of your closet as well. Sometimes I feel like I need that perfect top or adorable dress to wear, but when it comes down to it, I’m just as happy wearing my closet staples. I did however, throw on my new Noonday earrings that are not only beautiful but also light as a feather! I didn’t even realize that I had them on most of the night. Yet somehow, in my mind at least, these earrings alone took my everyday outfit to date night acceptable :)

For those of you that follow along on my Insta-stories, you saw that we made a pit-stop during our ride home from the beach. It was a rather impromptu stop that was a result of my youngest dirtying her diaper when we were about 20 miles out from passing the mall. My mind quickly raced and I managed to talk my husband into taking the girls to a play area (post diaper change of course!) while I made a quick trip through Nordstrom with my son tagging along. He’s much more camera shy than my daughters are ;) I was literally like a kid in a candy shop while I snagged everything I could and rushed to the fitting room. What I found were a ton of adorable fall pieces, most of which are versatile enough to dress up or down depending on your lifestyle. I had a very difficult time not taking most of it with me and chances are likely I’ll order a few more of these things in the coming month or so! Gotta keep that budget in check though….ugh! ;) Alright, let’s get to it….

This sweater is adorable in person. This was the first piece of Cupcake and Cashmere’s collection that I’ve ever tried on and I’m not surprised at all that I loved it. I’ve followed Emily’s blog for nearly a decade. It was one of the first blogs I ever started following and remember reading it before I even had Jack (who’s now 8). I love her style and was happy to see her things in person!

Isn’t this sweatshirt adorable? The collar is removable but who would ever want to take it off?? For washing I suppose ;) Think about pairing this with denim and sneaks or a cute pair of trousers and heels!

Another adorable sweatshirt with cuff and collar details. This one comes in a few other colors as well. Love it!

This embroidered jacket is too cute. Check out the back…

…right?!

And while we’re talking jackets, I tried on this denim jacket by Madewell while I was there. I loved it but didn’t get it until I came home…and ordered when Madewell had a sale going on! I have a denim jacket that I love in a darker wash, but the fit of this one was so great that I caved. I have on an XS here but ordered a S as the sleeves were a tad too short on me and I didn’t have any wiggle room in the shoulders. I read through a number of their reviews as well and many also recommended sizing up. Can’t wait to receive this one, although I’d be ok if I didn’t need it for a few more weeks ;)

Another hard to pass up piece. This dress is incredibly comfortable and the sleeves obviously are icing on the cake. I’d love wearing this with booties and a pretty fall scarf or pendant necklace!

This top was super cute. It comes in a smokey pink that they were out of but I would have loved to see in person. I’m wearing a S here but would have taken an XS had they had one in stock, so I’d say it’s pretty true to size, if not slightly large.

I get that this one isn’t for everyone, but how fun?! It also comes in a few other subdued colors if you wanted to take it down a few notches ;)

I love the details on this crewneck sweater. Perfect for a work environment! I can’t find this exact color combo online, but here it is in a few other colors.

I loved this Madewell top. It was hard to capture, but the ruffle detail travels the whole way down the sides. It has an oversized fit but would be cute with a front tuck or even tied in the front. I can only find this other pattern on the Nordstrom site, but here it is at Madewell.

Don’t worry, I didn’t grow an extra set of arms, I just had an 8 year old that was losing patience ;) I brought this dress home with me because I fell for the color and the drapey fit and can hardly wait to pair it with some OTK boots and (eventually) a cardigan.

Cute blouse, but wait for it…

My gosh, I’m such a sucker! Give me all the ruffles and bows!

And since back details seem to be a running thread today…

I love what the v-back does for this sweet and simple tee.

The beautiful fall colors are what drew me to this top. I would have loved to try on an XS (they only had a S in store), but I love the shape to it as well as the elastic hem.

And finally a pretty sweatshirt because if you’re anything like me, you can’t get enough of them in life!

I didn’t get a good shot, but I am wearing these jeans in the above pictures. I love the slim straight trend going on and these had a great fit. I wasn’t looking for denim, but they still get two thumbs up from me (and now all I can hear is my two year old in my head repeating ‘fumbs up’ :)

That’s all I’ve got for now! What was your favorite piece??

Cotton Tie Tee

Excuse me while I pout for a moment as I no longer have an ocean as a backdrop! I can’t complain though, we had a beautiful week at the shore and I’m thankful to have had the momentary pause from the norm to stop and enjoy time with our family. We now have a week and a half before my older two start school. In the meanwhile, we’ll be tackling dentist appointments, well visits, school supply shopping and working on getting an earlier bedtime schedule because boy, has that been thrown to the wind! Do you guys have kids starting back this week or next? I’ll be thinking of you!

This Madewell tee was a great recent purchase and I just may need it in another color (hello rosewood pink!). It can be worn casually or dressed up as the cotton has a great texture to it which can push it to be slightly more polished. A number of my favorite pieces come from Madewell as I love and trust their style and quality of goods. Through today, Madewell is offering 15% off purchases for their ‘insiders’. The good news is becoming an insider doesn’t cost you anything, nor is it a credit card and it also comes with free shipping (gosh I love free shipping!). My tote is an all time favorite. My overalls are a staple. Their jeans are always on point. And thanks to the sale, I will soon be adding this denim jacket to my fall wardrobe! How about you guys? Any Madewell favorites in your closet?

Oceans of Blue

It’s going to be hard to leave this backdrop behind tomorrow! We’ve had a fantastic vacation week to end our summer, but I’m just not ready to go back to pumpkin-everything filled shelves! I found this chambray top the other day at a little boutique here in downtown Stone Harbor, NJ. I’m guessing that most of you may not be looking for anchor embellishments as we head into fall, but I’ve rounded up a few solid options that are perfect for the season ahead (see below). And also to note, these adorable earrings. I picked them up at Target to potentially wear for an upcoming wedding, but I’ve been wearing them much more than expected already! I’m typically a stud kind of girl, but I want to work on adding more statement earrings into my outfits. Help hold me accountable, please?

Beach Bum

Hey guys! I hope you’re all having a great week so far! Our vacation has started off wonderfully, just in case you haven’t seen any part of it from Instagram ;) The kids are having a blast and we got to hang with our latest addition to the family, my 4 month old niece, Zoey! Our normal routine is off to say the least, but that’s how it goes, right?! Late bedtimes, too much ice cream, and sporadic meltdowns (unfortunately not only from the ice cream!). My husband and I have also been getting doses of one on one time (thanks to having my in-laws with us) which is so wonderful! Even if part of it is sneaking off to do a blog shoot… being able to laugh with each other without three kids in tow is something we can appreciate.

I picked up this sweater from LOFT before we left and am so glad I brought it along. Not that it’s been cold, but a light sweater on a breezy evening is exactly what’s needed. It’s looking as though we may have a rainy day ahead of us, so we might be taking the kids to see a movie. That’ll be interesting with our two year old, but hopefully we can keep her consumed with enough popcorn to keep her still. Fingers crossed!

Must-Have Tank

This week may have started off slow for us but I honestly don’t know how Friday got here this quickly! I’m not complaining, especially since our family is heading to the beach tomorrow (yay!), but goodness I have a lot to accomplish today! Thankfully my reinforcement (a.k.a. my mom) is here to help with the kids while I tie up all the loose ends and hopefully finish packing. Next week may be a little sporadic around here, but I’ll see what I can tackle while we’re away ;)

Let me quickly recommend a tank that you should grab…in about six colors! With the option to leave the back open or tied for a more fitted look, this little guy is a no-brainer. I’ll be throwing it on with leggings for the gym too. I love the versatility!

I swung into LOFT yesterday with my 5 year old in tow because we are nearly napless these days. I suppose that’s a good thing however, with full day kindergarten starting in a few weeks! She was more than happy to tag along and I know I’ll be missing our days together when I can’t have her :( She was a great little helper (when she wasn’t trying to open the door on me!) and I was able to try on a bunch of beautiful transitional pieces that I uncovered in store. Everything is 40% off at the moment, so it’s a good time to take advantage of some warmer pieces as the temps will be dropping all too soon!

I love the off-the-shoulder look, but I admit with short sleeves they can be a bit of a hassle because you aren’t always able to raise your arms! Once you add sleeves however, the problem is immediately solved! This sweater is one such example and a beautiful piece for fall!

And let’s not skip over these embroidered jeans! Adorable! There are actually a ton of embroidered pieces in store right now and I was loving a bunch of them!

I thought this combo would be perfect for a more professional environment. The top is lovely in person and the skirt is dreamy. You need to feel the faux suede in person! Beautiful for fall.

I can’t track this sweater down online yet, so you may need to head to the store if you want to grab it! It’s a beauty. Lightweight and perfect for the end of summer/beginning of fall. These pants are also great for fall. Not only do they come in this pretty sage, but also a beautiful bourdeaux.

I’ve said before that black isn’t a great color for me (I’m a summer!), but for those that pull it off, check this out…

Awesome! Now you could certainly layer a tank under this sweater for more coverage, but I lean towards the modest side with clothing and I’d feel comfortable in this for a date night or night out. There’s more than enough coverage for a bra, and that’s key for me!

And since we’re talking fun, this little number is ready for a good time! Perfect for now or later, later with a denim jacket or a blazer depending on the occasion.

In case you didn’t grab any new denim at the Nordstrom Sale and you’re looking for a pair for fall, these are great. They’ve got a perfect amount of stretch to them, some distressing and have a great wash. If you’re between sizes you could size down in these. And this light weight sweater…she was love at first site for me! You need to see it in person, it’s even better…

Another fun fall sweater. Think of all the fall photo opps coming your way. A nice cream sweater would work beautifully with the backdrops!

This cute t-shirt dress is adorable, comfortable and perfect to layer under jackets…and scarves…with boots….or booties….oh the options!!

And finally, here’s the jacket that’s nearly identical to the one I got at the Nordstrom Sale, and you can get it for 40% off!

Happy shopping and let me know what you find! I always love hearing!!

Blue Utility

Hey guys! Want to know some good news? The Nordstrom Sale is finally over, so life may now return to normal in your social media world! I do hope you all snagged a few goodies, but all good things must come to an end and I have a feeling most of us were ready for this one! This jacket came from the sale and ended up selling out pretty quickly, but I found one that’s nearly identical at LOFT. I was happy to discover it because I’ll be wearing this one a ton and I hate leaving you hanging without an option to have a similar look too. We had a rather chilly weekend in PA and I was more than happy to throw on an extra layer.

This week you can find me prepping for the beach (we leave on Sat) and narrowing down paint colors for our dining room because all of sudden I came across color inspiration (as I was on the hunt for a completely different color for a client of mine!) and decided it was time to start slapping samples on my walls. God love my husband ;) I may give you peek on Insta-stories if it shows well on the phone!
